Abbott suggested that they should commemorate their 50th meeting by voting £1000 from the funds towards the Jubilee Consumptiye Hospital. It would only represent 2d a piece from tbe members. The sugges tion was warmly received. Hincs was executed at Maitland today. Death was instantaneous. This Day. The Conference of the Chambers of Commerce resolved that restrictions in the way of trading with the New Hebrides which at present hampered the British residents should be applied alike to all nationalise?. The Conference strongly endorsed a petition to the Queen, to bo adopted by the Federal Comic lon the subject. It was decided to favor the holding of a regular Inter colonial Congress. Melbourne, May 21. Eelph, the cyclist, covered half a mile in o'l 4- usec,. and quarter of a mile iv 24-2-sec, breaking the Australian records.
