(Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day, A peculiar phenomenon is reported at i the Bathurst and Orange districts. For months there was no rain, the creeks and springs were dry, now they have commenced to flow, and some springs aro spouting several feet. Water which was previously exceedingly scarce is now superabundant. The scientists are puzzled. Professor David attributes it to the drought killing all vegetation aud the moisture which thi<y absorbed when growing has augmented the underground water supply. He instances soveral similar occurrences in Australia during former severe droughts Mr Wragge inclines to tho opinion that it is traceable to tho recent earthi quakes.
