" As Others See Us."
The Wellington correspondent of the Cbristchurcu Press, wrote as follows in a recent letter to that journal : - The Feilding Jockey Club intend purchasing their racecourse on the termination of the present lease. It is most unsatisfactory to the club to see tbe course being damaged by sheep, which for some reason or other make their tracks on the course, and on the ap proach of the club's gatherings these tracks have to be filled up. Of course the grass does not grow in some of tbe places and the racing track therefore becomes rough in places. On account of this the club has decided to purchase the course right out and thus put a stop to this objectionable practice. Besides the club intends to lay down better training tracks for the use of trainers. The country club has made rapid strides of late years, and with a continuance of the capable administration of its race meetings for which the club is noted, a bright future is in store for the Feild^ ins J.C.
