The Feilding Quoit Club opened their ' season yesterday afternoon, the pitch i being in first-rate condition, but owing to the recent flood and consequent inability to return home by the last , train the Marton players were unable to i attend, whilst the principal Palmerston players were engaged in playing bowls against the Feilding Club. Only six players turned up and a friendly game between the President and the Captain was played, victory resulting with the former by 33 points. Following are the scores : — First Round. President.
