Apiti Dairy Company.
«. At a meeting of the directors of the Apiti Coop. Dairy Company, on Thursday last, the chairman, on behalf of the directors, presented their secretary (Mr B. A. Miller), on the occasion of his marriage, with a handsome writing desk and an address as a slight mark of the esteem in which he is held and for the excellent manner he has performed his duties since the formation of the company. The chairman, in making the presentation, expressed the wish that Mr Miller would enjoy the best of health for many years to work in the interest of the company as he had in the past. The followiug is a copy of the address :— " Apiti, New Zealand; March, 1897. Mr B. A. Millek,- We, the di rectors of the Apiti Co-operative Dairy Company, have always appreciated the very able manner in which you have discharged your duties as secretary to the Company, and have therefore taken advantage of the opportunity of your having joined the ranks of the benedicts to not only wish you every happiness in this most important era of your life, but also to convey to you their acknowledge ment of the very capable way in which you have seconded their endeavours to promote the success of the Company by your assiduous attentions to your duties and by your unfailing courtesy to all connected with the company. We therefore trust you will accept this slight memento of our good regard, and wish both yourself and Mrs Miller a long and happy union. — (Signed) E. Miller, C. H. Miller, T, J. Clapham, J. Johnson, E. Nix, directors. Mr Miller, in reply, thanked the directors for the kind wishes and baudsome present, saying he was taken by surprise. He would always try to pro mote the interest of the Company in every possible way.
