COST TO LOCAL BODIES.
The cost of the flood "to the Rangitikei, ! Kiwitea and Manawatu County Councils, j Manchester Road Board, and the Feilding Borough in bridges alone will be over i£20,000 and putting alow estimate on the cost of repairing damages to roads will bring the bill of damages up to considerably over .£23,000. Probably the cost of repairing the roads in the several districts will bring up the bill of damages to at least £25,000. Railway Communication. The Postmaster reports there is a probability of conveying mails and paßsengers by coach to-morrow between the Rangitikei and Oroua rivers, crossing the former by boat and the latter by trolly.
