Q ) The cyclist record from Eketahuna to Wellington of 7 hours 7 minutes, wbich was put up by J. M. Beckingsalo in November last, has been reduced by J. Brodie by 89 minutes. Brodie left Eketabuna at 6.47 a.m. and reached Masterton — a distance of 30 miles— an hour and a half later. At the Upper Hutt he was picked up by W. Pollock and paced ioc some distance, and then at Belmont a cyclist pamed Judd took him along as far as Petone, where another rider, Casey, made the pace until town was reached, the time being 25 minutes past one. At Feathprston Brodie was three quarters of au hour ahead of Beckingsale's time, and remained there for breakfast. Brodie, by reducing the record, wins Messrs Jefferios and Lucy's gold medal.
