The Grievnances of Ireland.
I Per Press Association] London, Marcb 130. In the House of Commons Mr E. Blake, M.P. for South Longford (who was in New Zealand as umpire in the Midk-nd Eailway arbitration), moved that the Government should remedy the grievances of Ireland on the basis of the report of the Irish Financial Commission. Sir Michael Hicks^Beach, Chancellor of the Exchequer, replied that financial and political Home rule would be equally fatal, and the Government would adhere to the common taxation 'system, and would help to develop the resources of the couutry if the uew Couitniasiou adyxsed it. '
