(Per Press Association.) Auckland, March 5. Messrs T. Cattle and R. Kerry have paid over on behalf ot a London syndicate the cash balance due to the vendors of the Eolipse licensed holding at Tararua, thus completing the purchase with the exception of the distribution of shares, for which a little more time has been allowed. The Tekoa, from London, brought a quantity of mining machinery for the Waihi Goldmining Company and the New Zealand Crown Mines Company. Dunedin, March 5. The return from the Clyde Dredging Company for the week ending stb inst. was 18Sox 17dwt 12gr gold of the value of £516 8s 6d. The dredging time was 188 honrs. Sydney, March 5. Rich gold has been strnck in the Highland Chief Mine, Freebnrgh. Twentyfive pounds of stone gave two pounds of gold. The reef is large and well defined. Other prospectors are obtaining large retnrns.
