OTAGO v, CANTERBURY.

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, February 27. The cricket match, Otago v. Canterbury concluded this afternoon at 4 p.m. in excellent weather and a Rood wicket, and in the preseiace of 1000 spectators. Otago's fine uphill play met with its reward, the Southern province being returned easy winners by 146 runs. Otago's second innings produced 290 rnns, Clarke increased his score to 29 and Liggins his to 21. Spraggon hit out 40 very quickly, and with Haydon, who scored 11, put on 41 for the last wicket. Canterbury was left with 193 to win, but the innings quickly closed for 46 Demaus, with 16, was the only double figures for Canterbury. Wilding, with 5 for 67, bowled best. Fisher, for Otago, took 7 wickets for 11 runs, and Downes, 3 for 18. No excuse is possible for the poor batting of the home team in the second inninge as the wicket and light were good.
