Palmerston Orchestral Society.

On "Wednesday evening next the residents of Feilding and district will be afforded a musical treat, when the Palmerston Orchestral Society will give their second concert in Feilding. Among the items to be produced will be the grand orchestral fantasia, " Faust," arranged by the famous M. Bivieri. This will be the central feature of the orchestral numbers, and should be highly appreciated. The other orchestral items are selections from ' lolanthe,' 'GirofleGirofla,' miouet of Paderewski, ' Marche de Flambeaux, ' by Scotson- Clark, and Gounod's ' Marche Roumaine. 1 The vocal items will bo contributed by Miss Tall (a visitor from Otago), Mrs Lyons, Mr Hunn and Rev. Wyndham Ear^e. The latter will sing a song of bis own composition. Mr Isherwood (leader of the orchestra) contributes a violin solo, Mr M. Cohen a viola solo 'Bonanza,' by G otter man, Mr Pickering a cornet solo, and Mrs Fifcaherbert and Mr Gunter a duet for two pianos. Mr Cohen will act as conductor. It is pleasing to note that the society is making great progress both financially and artistically. The society is well worthy of public support and we have no doubt that it will continue to progress, and that the efforts of the members will meet with the appre« ciation they deserve. It will be remembered that on their previous visit to Feilding a large and critical audience were surprised at the proficiency of the performers and we feel sure they will be greeted with a much larger attendance on their return visit.
