Wellington Land Board.
The adjourned meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present — Messrs Marchant (Commissioner), Fred. Pirani, A. W. Hogg and J. Stevens. Mi* W. A. Fitzherbert's appointment expired last month, and Mr F. Pirani's expires on the 17th inst. Transfers approved — R. J. Stephenson to J. -Stephenson, section 11, Block V, Apiti; J. B. Pringle to R. H. Carter, section 11a, Block 11, Pohangina, Transfer of section 16, block VIII, Ongo, F. G. Carthew to T. G. Taylor, approved, provided felled area grassed. It was decided to lease reserves 10 and 11, Block VII. Paraparaumu, for seven years, subject to six months' notice of resumption. J. C. Sly's application for a piece of land adjoining the Otaki river was left for the Commissioner to deal witb. A number of mortgages were approved. The foUowing applications for land were approved : — C. and H. H. Meads, section 20, Block V„ Apiti ;J. Conchie and W. Sadlier, section 14, Block 11., Tiriraukawa ; J. W. and D. Davis' section 7a, Block XL, Pohangina. Mr D. W. B. Murray, a Government surveyor, again applied for 640 acres of unsurveyed land in cbe Awarua Block, and the Board resolved to adhere to its former decision not to give any preference to him, but to point out that he can apply when tbe land is surveyed and offered for selection. Application from T. Green how to subdivide and transfer part of section 34, Block XV, Apiti, to T. Elliott, was agreed to. The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands, in reply to a protest from the Board, wrote stating that arrangements had been made with the lessees of section 2a, and 4a, Momobaki settlement, to occupy until lst April, when it may be decided not to add tbe land to the State farm. J. P. "Whibley was allowed till lat of February to pay arrears on section 15, Block IV, Delaware Settlement, but no further extension to be allowed.
