The Flax Industry.
(Per Press Association.) Foxton, Dec. 17. The directors of the Manawatu Railway Co. (Limited) have generously subscribed to tbe proposed mission to send Mr J. Holmes as the Colony's Ambassador to Europe and America for the purpose of ascertaining the hindrances that effect the sale of New Zealand hemp, and to report on the best means of securing a continuity of trade. The flax millers here appreciate the general response accorded to the movement throughout New Zealand.
