Word waa received in town last night that a lad named Leonard Wallace, the fourth son of Mr Joseph Wallace, oi Lowther street, was misßing. and that hia clothes had been found on the river bank. It appears that at about §.30 o'clock tbe lad left the house to go to the river for a bathe, by himself- Fears for his safety were aroused at tea time, wben be failed to put in an appearance, and a search was at once instituted. Miss Wallace, a sister of che unfortunate lad, went down to tbe river bank and asked a little boy named Wilson to run along by the water-side and see if he could see bim. The boy did so, but instead of finding Wallace, he saw his clothes lying on the bank. — Cbronicle.
