An Interesting Discovery.

(Per Press Association.) New Plymouth, This Day. An interesting discovery was made near Purangi, inland from Inglewood, of fossil remains of what is thought to be a huge land lizard. It is embedded in papa rock on the bank of a creek, and had been exposed by a land slip in perfect preservation. The scales and fossilised skin are visible to the naked eye. It is estimated to be thirty to forty feet loug. An officer of the survey department leaves on Monday to inspect with a view to securing the remains.
