An Unlucky Man.
(Per Press Association) Wellington, Nov. 27. A carcase of frozen mutton slipped from the slings and fell into tbe hold of the Mataura. The neck struck George Newton an employee of the New Zealand Shipping Company on the head, and inflicting so severe a wound he bad to be removed to the hospital. Newton bad a finger cut off by a winch some weeks ago and had only just returned to work.
