The Wellington Election.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, This Day. For some reason or other an impression got about that the Premier intended to have himself nominated for Wellington yesterday, &nd the rumour was industriously circulated in certain quarters. It was for this reason Mr Duthie was nominated at the last moment, bat as tho Premier is not amon^ the candidates it is considered unlikely Mr Duthie wiil go to the poll. Interest in the election is by no means so keen as on the two provious occasions. The temperance question cuts athwart political lines, and makes it extremely diificult to form any opinion as to the mca who are likely to be elected.
