-« (Per Press Association.) Reefton, Nov. 11. A remarkable rich boulder of quartz was found this morning on the Sir Francis Drake Company's lease situated between the Scotia and the old Sir F. Drake Company's ground. Gold is plainly visible in every piece of quartz broken off. Auckland, November 11. The yield from the New Zealand Crown Mine Company at Karangahake during four weeks was 1100 tons ore, which yielded 1600 ozs of bullion valued at £2865. At the School of Music examinations at the University College, in the senior division the Countess of Glasgow's medal for 1896 was won by Arthur Henry Smart, while in the junior division the medal was awarded to Miss Ettie E. Myers. Christchubch, Nov. 11. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Sheep Breeder's Association, reference was made to members making use of rams bought from ilocks not bt present registered, and attention was drawn to the fact that these owners rendered their flocks ineligible for being continued as registered flocks. The Council determined to enforce the rule upon the subjeot. Woodville, Nov. 11. The Woodville Central Agricultural Show has a good number of exhibits in all classes, but tho weather is broken, and the attendanco likely to be badly effected.
