MANAWATU AND WAIRARAPA v. WELLINGTON.

Wellington, Nov. 9. A match was played on the Basin Reserve to day between a combined Wairarapa and Manawatu team and the Wellington eleven, and was won by the latter on the first innings. In the first innings the visitors made 76— H. Hawke 13, Hodder 35. Smith took 5 wickets for 11, Waters 3 for 7, Holdslip 2 for 32. Wellington replied witb 304 — C. Gore 82, Williams 83, Holdship 57, R. Tucker 39. When the stumps were drawn the visitors bad lost eight wickets in the second innings for 126 — Rowse (retired ), 20, Entwisle 28, F. Hawke (not out) 13.
