(Per Press Association.) Pketh, This Day. A large scheme is being promoted to bring ore from the waterless portion of the goldfields and subject it to treatment where water is plentiful. It is proposed to connect with mining centres by means of trains in cases where it is not the intention of the Government to construct railway lines. -Melbourne, Nov. 2. In the case against the directors and auditors of the City of Melbourne Bank, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty and they were discharged. The jury desired to add a rider owing to a difference of opinion as to the management in the years 1892 and 1893, bat the Judge said be cotiid not allow it ; therefore a verdict of not guilty was recorded.
