Train arrangements for the Prince of Wales' Birthday are now advertised. The Hon ft. J. Seddon will deliver a political address in Halcombe on Tuesday next. Alterations aad additions are made to-day to Messrs Abraham and Williams' Palmerston sale. Tenders are invited by the Town Clerk, Mr G. C. Hill, for public works as detailed in the advertisement. Mr Trewin, of the Public Benefit Boot B tore, will have a special display this evening. Tenders are invited by Mr C. Bray, senr., engineer to the Manchester Road Board, for certain works at Ashurst. It is probable that the Hon John Me Kenzie, Minister of Lands, will give a political address in Feilding at an early date. The usual morning and evening services will be held in the Wesleyan Church to morrow, conducted by the resident minister, Mr C. C. Harrison. We have to acknowledge receipt of a complimentary ticket for the social to be held by the Oddfellows in Apiti on Friday, 13fch Novembor. The Australasian quotes the following from a correspondent :— I have been milking for three weeks a half shorthorn half Jersey cow, that gave so little milk that she was regarded as almost useless.
