Important Proposal by an Americam.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney, October 25. An important proposal has been made to the Minister for Lands by a gentleman with a practical knowledge of wheatgrowing on a large scale. He is an American, and has applied for 50,000 acres of abandoned pastoral holdings in the Mallee district, and offers a fair rant and to give a substantial guarantee to pnt 5000 under wheat in three years, 10,000 in iiye years, and 20,000 in eight years, and to clear the remaining 30,000 acres in ten years. He will hand over the whole of the land excepting 2560 acres thoroughly cleared and fenced at the expiration of 28 years, receiving tenant right only if allowed for improvement and waiving such right for either clearing or scrubbing.
