Important Speech by Rosebery.
o (Per Press Association.) London, Oct. 21. Lord Rosebery, speaking at Colchester said the idea of surrendering Egypt and Cyprus might appease the suspicions of the Powers, but it resembled a "confidence trick" by the agitators. There was, he said, no practical suggestion that the British policy was in a very critical situation. The superior technical education provided in Germany rendered that Power a dangerous rival, and a Govern* ment enquiry into the matter was necessary.
