The Matabele Rising.

(Per Press Association.) Capetown Oct. 14. At a meeting of 130 Matabele chiefs at Indaba, Lord Grey, Administrator of the British South Africa Co., offered them salaries to control the district with the assistance of white men. The chiefs expressed delight at the offer and profusely thanked Mr Rhodes for what he had done for them. October 15. News from Matabeleland states that the indnnas declare that peace is as- j sured and firm since the white men | have offered the natives a helping hand.
