Palmerston North Hospital Board.

♦ The monthly meeting of the above was held at Palmeraton yesterday. Present — Messrs Park (chairman), Lethbridge, Harris, Ransome, Booth, Taylor, Raven bill, Hammond, Goodbehere, and Kendall. The following correspondence was received and dealt with : — From Pohangina and Manawatu County Councils, forwarding cheque for £10 8s 6d and £19 4s fld, levies for 1896 and 1897. From Manawatu County Council, Kiwitea County Council, Feilding Borough Council, asking for payments of £8 17s, £ 9 17s 3d and £28 7s 9d respectively, being amounts expended in charitable aid, — Agreed to. The Executive Committee reported that at a meeting held on 15th September it was decided to pay Mrs Angell and family's passages to Sydney (the total cost being £7 4s). The secretary was instructed to ascertain on what terms the Auckland Blind Institute would receive and maintain R. Pope, of Halcombe, and the secretary and matron were authorised to prepare a certificate for Miss J. Bartleman, lately extra nurse. It was decided to carry out some necessary works at the Hospital. — Adopted. The usual monthly accounts were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned.
