BushfeUiug Accident.

Yesterday, while bushfelling at Waituna, a man named John Mason, working on the property of Mr Hair, was very seriously injured by a tree falling on him. His mates went to bis assistance at once and carried him for a distance of eleven miles to Mr B. Poole's boarding house &t Waituna. Dr Charlton was sent tor and on his arrival found the poor fellow had a thigh bone fractured and had aluo sustained severe internal injury. His recovery is more than doubtful. Later. To give an idea of what these men did for Mason, we may state that thoy started with the injured man at 3.30 in the afternoon, and did not arrive at Waituna until 1.30 this morning. With commendable forethought they sent on a man to Waituna to telephone for the surgeon, who, consequently, wa.s 09 th§ spot when Mason arrived. His. bearers were very much fatigued by their journey.
