Cycling Notes.

lhc following handicaps have been declared by Mr E. A. Feck for the road race, for one of Mr J, Scott's medals, to be held on Wednesday next, October 7 th:— H'cap. J. Mingins scr. W. J. Trevena ... 200yda. J. Watson 200 P. Morphy 300 A. E. Bailey 300 N. Bray 350 G. Haybittle 3;30 A. Gould 375 li. Giesen 400 J. Coombe 400 H. F. Worsfold ... 450 Gapper 500 Williamson ... ... 500 Milson 500 McKenzie 500 The course will be from the Kiwitea stream to Manchester Square, a distance of about a mile and three-quart-ers. Tbe Feilding Cycling Club held their opening run yesterday afternoon, and notwithstanding the very threatening weather about twenty cyclists, including live lady riders, attended. A start was made from Manchester Square, the route being to Coiyton, Taonui and back to Feilding. On arrival at Taonui a halt was made for a few minutes at Mr Win, Bailey's residence, where the Misses S. L. and J. A. Bailey kindly provided at'tfinoon tea for tho riders, who, before resuming their journey, gave three cheers lor tbe Misses Bailey tor their kindness. Although the weather was not altogether what might have been desired, yet the run was very enjoyable and it is the iutention of tbe local Cycling Club to hold similar runs throughout the summer. Mr E. A. Feck, Captain of tbe Feilding Cycling Club, has handed in his resignation as a member of the Club, as he is about to leave Feilding for South Africa. Iv consequence of this resignation, nominations to fill tbe vacant office will be received by tbe secretary up to Tuesday next, when a general meeting of members will be held for the purpose of electing a successor to Mr Feck, whose departure is regretted by members of the Club, he having been identified with it from tbe commencement and he was »ne of its most popular members. Mr Feck had acted as handicapper for the Club during the past season and was very successful in giving general satisfaction to racing men in that respect.
