DIPHTHERIA AT BEACONSFIELD.

TO THE EDITOR Sib, — In your issue of Tuesday, September the 23rd, a letter appears under the heading of " Diphtheria at Beacons- j field " and signed 4% A Parent." In this letter a statement is made to the effect that fowls roost " as a rule " in an outhouse at the Beaconsfield school. I, the teacher at the school, was somewhat surprised to see such a statement as I was not aware such a thing had even happened once, let alone been the rule. However, since your correspondent has pat the statement in print, he will, no doubt, be able to prove it, and I hereby Challenge him to come honourably torward and lay a straightforward complaint to the local school committee that tbe evil, if it be proved to exist as he states, may be. as soon as possible, removed. I am, &c, H. Phyn. Sept 23rd. 1596.
