Mr G. B. Browne has definitely decided to contest the Awahou seat in the County Council. This gentleman is well and favourably known to all the ratepayers in ibe district and is well up in lecal body work. In any case the contest will be a very clobb one, as Mr Dicken is very popular. Mr G. F. Grorringe will oppose Mr H. Fraser in the Tamaki Ridinj?. As he is a young man and of considerable business ability, hiß chauces should be good, al- | though Mr Fraeer has the advantage of being an old and well-tried representative and, as far as I am aware has given every satisfaction. Mr Gorringo ia expected to address the ratepayers at an early date. Rumour has it that Mr E. Harrison will be a candidate for the Mangaone Biding. Ratepayers would like to know definitely. We expect several candidates for the Pohangjna Riding, bnt Mr A. A. Wagstuff ie the only one <3ei)nitely announced. This gentleman will address the ratepayers shortly. — Standard. |
