Accident to Mr C. Carr.
f FBOM OIT.B OWN COfiEESPONDENT. I Fowlers, This Day. An accident occurred at Kiwitea this morning to Mr C. Carr, auctioneer. It appears that Mr Carr and Mr Levett, of Kiwitea, were driving to Fowlers when the horse shied at some grass seed bags that were on a passing dray, with the result that the trap capsized into the ditch, breaking Mr Carr's leg and giving Mr Levett a shaking. This is the sale day here, and Mr Cooper, of Feilding, has telegraphed to the mayor for a permit to act for Mr Carr, who is lying at Mr George Kidd's Kiwitea. Dr Monckton was telegraphed for, and proceeded immediately to Kiwitea to attend to Mr Carr, the news of whose accident waa received in town with feelings of regret by his many friends. The permit was granted to Mr 0. C. Cooper to act as Mr Carr's substitute at fcbe Birmingham sale, which was held there this afternoon. Later. We learn that the limb ia not broken but only severely strained.
