Apiti Notes.

« Ffbom otrn own coebespondent.l The footballers' concert and dance, which took place on Friday evening, prove a great success. The affair had been looked forward to for some time, aud consequently there was a large attendance, visitors being present from all parts of the district. A very good programme waa gone through, among the best items of which were songs by Mrs Starr, Miss N. Gascoigne, and Mr W. Grace, duet by Miss N. Gascoigne and VV. Gascoigne, cornet solo by J. Coreen, and step dance by Phillip Bros. A most enjoyable dance followed, there being about thirty couples present. Excellent music was provided by Messrs Hargreaves (piano), J. Coreen (cornet), and E. Coreen (violin). Mr W. Pawson made an efficient " M.C." Dancing was kept up till 5 a.m. and everybody seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The committee who had the carrying oat of the arrangements, proved indefatigable in their efforts to make the affair a success and deserve credit for the capable manner in which the work was done.
