The Sculling Championship.

«. DEFEAT OF STANBURY. (Per Press Association.) .London, September 7. The raco between Stanbury and Gaudaur for tho championship and £'1000 aside took place on the Thames to-day. Gaudaur won easily by twenty lengths. Stanbury claimed a foul, and after that made no further efforts. The weather was dull and a slight orceze was blowing. The betting at the start was 7to 4 ou Stanbury. Stanbury, having won the toss, chose the Surrey side. After 12 false starts the men got away and at Hftrrolds Gaudaur took Stanbury's water. The alleged foul took place near Leadmills, butthe champion's claim was disallowed.
