Apiti Notes.

(From our own correspondent.) The youngest son of Mr E. Gascoigne met with a painful accident on Thursday afternoon. It appears that he and another boy were chopping roots, when by some ir.ishap the axe descended upon the fingers of his left hand, severing two of them. The little sufferer, who bore the pain manfully, was taken to Feilding where his injuries were attended to. The Apiti footballers intend to give a concert and dance on Friday next to close the season. The Awahuri Club are sending a team up here on that day also to play the local men, so that a good nuuster of spectators is expected.
