Cheltenham Cricket Club.
o A meeting of those interested in forming a cricket club was held in the Cheltenham Hall on Thursday last, Mr D. M. Banks in the chair. It was resolved to form a club to be called the Cheltenham United Cricket Club ; subscriptions, 5s for players, and 2s 6d for non players and boys under 16. 1 Upwards of twenty names were banded in of intending members. Mr R. C. Tempier vas appointed Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, and it ' was resolved to ask the following gentlemen to accept office : President, C. A. J. Levett. Esq. ; vice-Presidents, Messrs 1 Bruce, Buchanan, Jas Barrow, Banks, Jones, Mitchell, and Tappin. Mr Mills offered the use of a paddock, 1 and the Secretary was instructed to write accepting the offer and thanking 1 Mr Mills. It was resolved to try and obtain a suitable piece of ground at Kiwitea for members at that end of the district to practise on. | A strong committee was formed, and ■ it was resolved that the committee canvas for members and report at meet ing to be held on Saturday, September 12th j also, that the committee obtain rhe necessary material as soon as sufficient funds are in hand.
