Fire in Warwick Street.

v At about a-quarter to five this morniug the alarm of fire was given, and on the townsfolk turning out to ascertain the cause ifc was found that a building in Warwick street, occupied by Messrs A. Wilson and Co. as a store for skins and grain, was on fire. Members of the Fire Brigade turned out with the engine, but the fire bad too strong a hold for them to prevent the total destruction of the building, which was owned by Mr Knapp, of Wellington, and for which Mr W. A. Sandilands was local agent. It is not known here whether the building was insured, but a quantity of oats — about 600 bags — -were insured for £250 in the Royal Fire Office, Messrs Barraud and Abraham being the local agents. In addition to the oats, there were about £30 wortb uf skins and, also, a quantity of bags and other appliances used by Messrs Wilson and Co. in their business.
