Primitive Methodist Church.

The anniversary tea in connection with the loc:al Primitive Methodist i Church was held in the chapel last evening, when a large number of adherents and others sat down to ft Bumptuous repast. Tables were provided by the following ladies : — Mes dames R. Trevena, Gower, G. Fidler, J. C. Thompson, Cocker, Adams, Gould, Misses Fidler, Thompson, Gould and a table by the bachelors, which proved very attractive to members of the gentle sex. In connection with these anniversary gathering? it is worthy of note that Mrs Trevena has provided a table ever since the establishment of this church in Feilding In addition to the ladies mentioned a number of others assisted in various ways to make the gathering a success. After full justice had been done to the t;ood things provided the tables were cleared away and a public meeting was held, at which the Rev. J. Cocker presided. In his address, the chairruan stated that since the last anniversary the church had been enlarged at a cost of £205 6s 9d. The amount received on account of the church buildiug fund was £207 6s 9d, including £50 from the church loan fund, leaving a credit balance of £2 2s. The ordinary workiDg expenses of the church (lighting, cleaning, etc.) amounted to Jtlß, and ifc was expected this would be fully covered by the anniversary services. The congregations were keeping up and the church generally was in a prosperous condition. Interesting addresses were also given by Ensign Rule (Salvation Army) and Revs. Grindley and Dr Hosking. The programme was contributed to by— Mies A. Gould, wbosang " Low at Thy Feet " ; Miss Kennedy, the song " Only Tired " ; recitations, "Helping God to Make the Flowers Grow " and "Free Seat," Mrs Cocker; the string band played the selections "M y Polly " waltz and " Melbourne March " ; the choir sang "The Lord Jehovah Praise " aud '* The Lillies."
