The weather was fine yesterday, but , owing to the absence of sunshine, the i wicket was not so treacherous as was expected. In the Australian's second innings, ' Hill and Gregory played splendidly, the latter being at the wicket for something like two hours, Trumble, too, gave a vigorous display. Requiring 246 runs to win, Lancashire, wbich had 2 wickets down for 10, cut a sorry figure, as the whole team was dis missed for 28, leaving the Colonials victors by 217 runs. For the Home team, Ward was highest scorer with 6. McKibbin again was the destroying element, and ouly delivered 53 balls, the New South Welshman getting terrible work on from both sides. Kelly, his own townsman, was equally successful, as he stumped three and caught one. Sugg lost his wicket at the first ball. McLaren was out with the score at 12, Tyldsley at 13, and S wickets were down for 17. The bowling analysis is, Trumble 2 for 12, and McKibbin 7 for 11. London, August 30.
