i _> J OTAGO V. CANTERBURY, (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, August 31. The interprovincial football match, Canterbury v. Otago, was played at Lancaster Park on Saturday afternoon and resulted in a win for Canterbury by 6 points (2 tries) to one goal from a try. The ground was very good considering the recent rains, and tbe w«ather was perfect. Tbere were 1500 spectators. Orchard, playing as wing three-quarter, scored both of Canterbury's tries, and Priest, getting over the line enabled Mason to kick a fine goal for Otago. Sydney, August 29. William Warbrick, ex-New Zealander, while taking part in a football match to-day, ricked his throat, the larynx being fractured. He was removed to the hospital, and is in a serious condition.
