OUR MUDDY STREETS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THS STAB. Sib, — A short time ago one of yonr correspondents Bir C. L. Daniel very wisely suggested the application of a galvanic battery to tbe Borough Conn* cillors to arouse them from tbeir bow almost chronic torpor, and wake them up to their responsibilities. Should Mr Daniel carry his threat into action, and be successful, I would venture to aak him through tbe medium cf yonr conespondence column on behalf of many ratepayers, if he will kindly extend hia operations and give them a sharper shock with tbe battery tban before to induce tbem to clean onr muddy streets, and put them in proper order. Yonr correspondent, I know, with his usual care and: discretion will mete ont the electric shock to each of the Codncillors wilh due proportion according to their works, and their physical capability of standing it ; and if they can only be persuaded to take it in good part, it is sore to do them good, and then amongst other much needed improvements, we shall get oar streets a bit cleaner. I am, 4c., Mod-Beßpat*tcj_jbi>.
