The Dunedin Sensation.
(Per Press Association) Duxedin, July 17. At the Magistrate's Court, Lawrence, Carl Matson and Hanuah Bertha Clark were charged with the murder, on or about the 22nd February, at Pomahaka, of May Matson, Mr R. S. Hawkins, S.M., presided. The evidence so far is the same as that given at the inquest. Chas. Johnston, rabbiterat Clydevale, said Mrs Matson was very bad tempered, and often used very bad language to Matson. She was a regular tartar, and he used to pity Matson ; he had seen the pair quarrel, but he had never seen Matson illtreat her. On one occasion when she aggrieved him, Matson kept silent for a long time, but at length approached her with his clenched fist, when witness said " none of that." The Magisterial enquiry at Lawrence resulted ih the committal of Matson for trial, and the discharge of the girl Clark. _____________
