Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — For the week ending we have to report upon sales held at Colyton, Palmerston, and a clearing sale on the property of the late James Bell, Kairanga, where there was a moderate attendance. Prices for stock realised full value and furniture and odds and ends made full rates. At Colyton on Tuesday sheep were in average supply. Bidding at the opening was dull but soon improved. Fat sheep advanced, but no quotable change for other sorts. Only a few cattle came forward. Breeding ewes, 8s 4d to 10s ; 2-tooth do., 10a 6d ; empty 2. tooth ewes, 10s 2d ; woolly lambs, 7s 9d ; cull ewes in lamb, 5s 8d ; fat ewes, 9s lid ; fat wethers, 11s 3d ; stores, 10s 3d to 10s Bd. In cattle weaners and yearlings made 20s to 30s respectively. At Palmerston yesterday sheep mustered freely. The demand for stores was generally easier. Breeding ewes are still inquired for and the demand remains unsatisfied ; but no persuasion would make buyers take any but young sheep in this class. This prevented business in many cases. Cattle were in small numbers, Fat cattle improved 10» per head over our last quotations. Fat ewes advanced from Is to Is 6d per head over our last week's rates and are scarce. Rornney breeding ewes, good mouths, 9d 3d ; Lincoln do., 10s to 10s 6d ; others, 7s Od ; culls, 5s 3d ; 2-tooth empty ewes, 8s 6d to 8s 9d ; fat ewes, light weights, 8s lid ; medium do. 9s 9d to 10s 3d ; .store wethers, 9s 6d to 10s 6d. Cattle.— Weaners, 15s to 17s; 18---month steers, 34s ; 2-year do., £2 10s ; fat steers, £6 5s ; fat bullocks, £1 ; a prime fat cow, .£6. Pigs, numerous, of coarse quality, sold freely from lla to 15s each. .^^_________
