Mr Ward's Reception at Invercargill.

Invercabgill, June 523. On their arrival atlnvercargil tonight, the Hon. Mr Ward and Mrs Ward were met by fully 3000 people, -who gave Mr Ward an ovation on bis appearance. He was escorted to a carriage, and then presented with three addresses of welcome, sympathy and confidence— one from the Liberals of Invercargill, one from the Wallace Liberal Association, and one from the residents of Clifton. The addresses were signed by several hundreds of people. Mr Ward delivered a speech for half an hour at the station, and was then driven to the Club Hotel. The vast concourse followed, and he was called upon, and again spoke from the balcony for half ,an hour. The demonstration was an extraordinary one; characterised by intense enthusiasm and cheering for Mr and Mrs Ward. The names of Sir R. Stout and Mr Duthie were vigorously groaned. ! ' < :
