Manawatu Rugby Union.
A meeting of delegates to the Manawatu Rugby Union was held in Palmerston last evening. Present— Mrssrs J. H. Hankins (president, in the chair), Pike and Eyre (Palmerston), O'Reilly (Awahuri), O'Brien (Rongotea), Kifcney (Red Star), P. Giesen (Feilding), Kauhanganui was also represented. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Abraham for his donation of one guinea. Protests from the Kauhanganui and Rongotea Clubs were referred to the protest committee. The matter of the suspension of M. Bilderbeck by the executive committee was opened by a letter from the Feilding Club, who disputed the authority of the committee to suspend a player. The chairman ruled the executive committee had no power to take such action, and it was resolved that the suspension be removed and that Bilderbeck be allowed to play for Feilding on Saturday next. The Pirate II wrote objecting to play two matches with Awahun, the latter Club having taken up the fixtures arranged for the Feilding II who dropped out of the junior contest after playing a few matches. The Feilding II being defeated by the Pirate 11. It was resolved that the Pirate II must play Awahuri at the end of the season. It was decided that the Union meet on Thursday night at Palmerston to consider the alleged use of insulting language by a Pirate II player, to the referee on Saturday last. Members of the Unionist Football Club are reminded of the practice to be held on the Polo Ground tomorrow afternoon. All members are requested to attend. The following will represent Colyton on Saturday next, at Cheltenham : — W. Fitch (capt.), j. Fitch, Smith (2), Adsett (2), Blake, Greig, Dunn, Peddie, Heslop, Gledhill, Stewart, Humphrey, Garlick ; emergencies, Evans, Burton, Stevens, "Woodham. The game will start at 3 o'clock sharp.
