Waipawa, This Day. A lad named Wm. Dureen was thrown from his horse while crossing a bridge and killed. The horse slipped and threw the lad against the bridge. The body was found in the river. Wellington, This Day. H.M.S. Rapid arrived in the harbour this morning, having come along the coast under sail after meeting with an accident to her propeller. The Ringdove also returned this morning. A nautical enquiry into the circumstances connected with the striking of the Ohau near the Brothers some days ago was held tbis morning, The officials of the vessel expressed the opinion she could not have struck a rock or her bottom would have been torn out. The decision of the court was reserved till Monday. Peter McGrath, {residing at Sydenham, died suddenly yesterday while lacing up his boots. James Duthie, clerk to Kawai Road Board, was thrown out of a trap on Wednesday evening, and died a few hours later.
