The Price of Stock in Scotland
A Scotch paper received by last mail reports a weekly stock saleim Boss-shire M follows :— The supplies of stock on offer consisted of 120 fat and store cattle, 14 milk cows, 82 calves, 286 sheep, and 148 fat and young pigs. Fat cattle| were in good demand and sold up to sellers' expectations. ! 'Stores of the best quality met* ready sals; Bough cattle were only making fair 'prices. The demand for milk cows was good, the best class gelling up to £19 10?, Young calves were taking nigh prices, newly dropped calves selling up to 80s. . The supplies of fat sheep were much short of the demand/and consequently those on offer sold dear. Thefollowing are the quotattons :—Besfc bollocks, £15 10s to £17 10»; and £12 ife to < £14 ; heifers £12 108 to £16 iss, and £10 10s to £12 ss; stirks, £9 lOts to £10 10s, and £4 12s 6d to £8 ; f at cowd. £8 10s to £iss 10s, and L7-I6stoliß 7s6d; two year-old bullocks,LlotoLlßlss; calves 62s 6d to 80s, 45b to 60s, and 10s to 40s ; milk cows,, Ll4 to Ll9 10s, and L 8 to
