forces. ; (Per Press Association.) j Cairo, June 8. : The Egyptian troops defeated the Dervishes at the Fermeh hills. The engagement was brisk, as the Deryisbes offered a stubborn resistance for three hours, till the mounted infantry turned the position and prevented a retreat. A thousant of the enemy were killed, while the Egyptian loss was only sixty, Camels, horses, provisions, and many prisoners were captured. In order to complete the rout, the cavalry are pursuing the scattered remnants of the Mabdi's forces. Among the killed at Fermeh was the Dervish commander.
