(Per Press Association.) Napikr, This D.iy. The applications fov volief at tho moating of the Charitable Aid Board, yesterday, were in excess of anything known here before. The circumstances of the applicants and enquiries made show there is a great amount of distress, due to lack of employment, and matters -are not helped by the fact of people from the South coming here hoping to get employment.
