w Messrs Gorton and Son held their usual monthly sale at Marton yesterday, when there was a fair attendance, a small but successful sale being held, with good prices, the yards being cleared of everything but two pens of sheep. Very much larger entries than advertised came forward. The prices realised were as follows : — Cattle : Fat cows, from £4 3s to ££ 15s ; 18-months mixed, i' 28s 6d. Sheep : Fat ewea, 8s 2d ; fat and forward ewes and wethers, 8s 3d ; empty ewes, from 5s 7d ; ewes, in lamb, from 3s 7d to 5s 7d ; ewes, in lamb, from 3s 7d to as 7d ; mixed lambs, 5s to 6s Id.
