Mining Accident.
(Per Press Association.) Thames, May 18. A eerious accident occurred at Sheridan and Company's mine at Tapu on Saturday evening. Arthur Meyers and his mate named Nicholls, were tamping a bole in a low level cross cut when the charge exploded, Meyers receiving its full force in his face and about the body. Nicholls was only slightly injured. Meyers was brought to the hospital yesterday. He had received severe injuries about the body, and his left arm is a good deal mutilated, while it is feared he will lose the sight of his left eye.
