Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — At Pohangina on Tuesday, more stock came forward than was advertised. The poor attendance and high reserves prevented much business being done. At Palmerstsn yesterday both sheep and cattle mustered up well. We had a large attendance, and spirited bidding for both classes of stock resulting in an almost total clearance of the yards under the hammer at prices in favor of vendors. Wethers more than maintained recent rates, whilst good woolled ewes and strong lambs showed a strong upward tendency. Yonng cattle and beefy cows sold freely, forward bullocks being perhaps at lower value than other classes of ' cattle. We quote : — At Pohangina. — 2-th wethers, 7s Id ; forward ewes, 6s and 6s 3d ; dairy cows, £5 10s ; 2*year steers, £2 sa. At Palmerston. — Sheep — Store wethers Bs, 8s 4d, 8s sd, 8s 7d, 8s lOd ; others, 7s 3d to 7s 6d ; dry ewes, 4s lid to 7s 5d ; 2-tooth ewes (empty), 6s 6d to 7s Id ; culls, 3s 2d to 4s 7d ; shorn lambs, 3s lOd to 4s 9d ; Lincoln do., '5s 7d. Cattle- Forward bullocks, £4 6s to £4 15s ; fat cows, .£3 16s to £4 4s ; dairy cows at profit, £4 17s 6d to £5 10s; backward do., £3 to £4 10s ; springing heifers, £5; others £B 2s 6d ; store cows, £3 to £8 6d ; 2.yoar steers, £2 14s 6d to £2 16s ; yearling heifers, 32s 6d to 38s ; well-bred shorthorn weaners, £2 ; others, 15s to 255. At our sale next week we have entries of an exceptionally good line of Lincoln ewes in lamb, and several lines of good skinned, healthy lambs.
